The aim of timeStamp is the provisioning of a remote sensing and up-to-date computing-based infrastructure for public agencies which allows for efficient and easier site-specific monitoring and reduces the need for on-site controls. For this, landscape changes are measured by multi-functional, high-level metrics and indicators derived from remote sensing data. These indicators and metrics are interpreted in the context of different tasks to find custom-made solutions for public institutions. Beneath the high thematic (i.e., content-related) and spatial resolutions, the project specifically focuses on the temporal dimension through implementation of multi-temporal satellite data. Two pilot studies are carried out: The first study deals with compensation site management as defined by the German Federal Mitigation Regulation (Eingriffsregelung, BNatSchG). The second study focuses on agricultural cover crop subsidies in the context of the EU Common Agricultural Policy programs. Remote sensing-based data and the agencies’ information will be connected by incorporating modern technical and IT-based solutions. Through automatized substeps, more efficient solutions for the public agencies’ tasks will be implemented for both fields of duty.
