Description
Data of sealing are regularly used by different persons in the Senatsverwaltung. One focal point is the usage and handling in different models (city climate, water supply) or assessment procedures, e.g. soil protection. Furthermore, in the context of public relations the documentation of damage degrees of nature and landscape represents one important point. Last but not least the demand of temporal high resolution sealing data in the political area increases to be able to measure the succes of evironmental or city-planning strategies in the context of monitoring works.
Currently several data sets are available trying to describe the status quo of sealing, but different approaches and methods have led to rather heterogeneous results. This is why focal points and strengths and weakness of the mapping apporaches are manifesting themselves more or less differently in different areas of the city.
The project aims to develop a concept for a dataset sealing consisting of different data sources for Berlin. Using remote sensing data an operable, comprehensible and repeatable analysis approach shall be developed, which uses existing geodata. A cost assessment concerning used data and the conversion of the process for Berlin will be done.
